The Impact of RADEC Learning Model on Mathematical Communication Ability: An Experimental Study on High School Students in Palu City

The low mathematics learning outcomes of high school students in Palu City are caused by the weak mathematical communication skills of high school students. Therefore, a learning model is needed that can improve students' mathematical communication skills. The RADEC learning model was chosen to be implemented in mathematics learning in the classroom. This research method is a quasi-experimental method with an intact group comparison design. The population of the study was all grade X high school students in Palu City, totaling 3656 students, while the sample was 186 students in theexperimental class and 186 students in the control class. Sampling used a purposive random sampling technique. The instruments used were initial ability tests and mathematical communication ability tests. Data were analyzed using t-test statistics and two-way ANOVA test statistics. The results showed that the RADEC learning model had a higher impact on the mathematical communication skills of high school students in Palu City, with a significance level of p = 0.000. The average score of mathematical communication skills of students who follow the RADEC learning model is 76.70 on a scale of 0-100, while participants who follow Direct Instruction are 62.35. The RADEC learning model does not provide different impacts based on students' initial abilities, so this model can be implemented in classes with heterogeneity in students' initial abilities.

Rata-rata nilai posttest kelas eksperimen mencapai 91,73, sedangkan kelas kontrol hanya 75,21. Development of Household Waste Diversification in Making Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) for the Community of Tinggede Village, Sigi Regency

Tinggede village is known as an area that has a high demand for fruit and vegetable production, where most of the people are farmers. The goal is to provide knowledge and capability in diversifying domestic waste in making liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) to the community of Tinggede village, Sigi regency. The activity will be held in July 2024, for 3 days. There were 25 participants who attended, all of whom were members of the Ibu PKK. The results obtained, firstly, they understood about the importance of utilizing waste into use value, and the process of making LOF. During this session, they were listening focusly, some of the participants actively asked questions to the service team, and gave positive responses regarding the importance of this education. The second result was that the participants succeeded in making two types of LOF, namely one made from a combination of vegetables and rice washing water, and one made only from rice water. From interviews with participants, telling about the participants’ experiences during routine checks for 2 weeks for this activity was very useful for them, because the LOF that had been made was successful, and could be used directly on plants. Based in there results, this service activity is considered to have achieved the expected target. Invertase of the cell wall controls the growth of both the apical and vegetative organs of the tomato

Researchers have intensively studied how external factors like temperature, humidity, soil structure, and fertilizer affect tomato plant growth. However, little is known about how internal factors, particularly cell wall invertase, affect plant growth. This study aims to determine how the activity of the cell wall invertase enzyme regulates the apical and vegetative growth of plants. The study utilized four tomato plants, consisting of two transgenic and two wild-type plants. The transgenic plants in one set exhibit lower levels of the cell wall invertase, known as TLINA. Another set of transgenic plants, known as TINHI, exhibited higher levels of the cell wall invertase. We named both wild types of plants, WLINA and WINHI, respectively, and used them as the control plant. The study's results revealed that the transgenic plants (TLINA) ceased their apical shoot growth, leading to the growth of an axial shoot to take the place of the apical shoot. t. Also, the TLINA plants grew lower than wild-type plants. Interestingly, the vegetative organs of TINHI plants grew higher than both wild types and TLINA plants. This evidence suggested that cell wall invertase regulates the apical and vegetative organs of plants. Please detailly find the link
